Ellen and Jake live in Omaha, NE! Since all of our conversation regarding the wedding took place over the phone and via email, I like to consider Ellen my e-pal. 😉 I loved her from the very beginning – how she described themselves “active and social”, their home decor “simple & stylish”, and especially how they envisioned their BIG day “elegant & youthful”. Those descriptions pretty much sum it up for this day. 🙂

The ceremony was held at the Cathedral Basilica, a place that has special meaning to Ellen and her family. It was her Dad’s parish growing up, and even his parents were married there! The reception was in the Grand Hall Lobby at St. Louis Union Station, where they were drawn to the lovely location and beautiful architecture. Keeping with the theme of the venue, we made our way around the block for portraits – trying not to melt. 😉 As most of you Missourians’ already know, June couples didn’t have the best of luck with spring-like wedding weather this year. We are amidst the biggest drought since the ’30s! Although the day was hot, it didn’t stop our sweet couple and fun bridal party from making the most of it and having a great time.
