This past weekend, Ryan and I decided at the last moment to take a weekend getaway to Scottsdale, AZ. One of our very favorite places to be! It also just so happened to be his birthday, so we did a little celebrating pool-side with Miami Vice’s and books in hand. 🙂 I almost had this darling session ready to post before I left, but thought I could perfect it a little more and save it for something to look forward to this week. I’m so glad I did. It’s nice to work on something and then come back to it. I fall in love with new favorite images all over again.

Sweet baby Josephine, named after the character in Louisa May Alcott’s book, Little Women, was the best baby ever. Just 8 days old, she loved sleeping and would pretty much do anything we wanted. 🙂 I love working with this family – Mom is so talented and sweet (and gorgeous!). It’s always wonderful collaborating on ideas for a newborn session. I think these types of shoots need a lot of creative thought for the style of my work to be at its best. Don’t you love the way her hat matches her bedroom, wallpapered in a precious Parisian print?! #obsessed. It’s all so wonderfully cohesive, it makes for the ultimate perfect shoot!
