Lauren + Joey | Kansas City Engagement Photography

A couple of weeks ago I made a trip back to Kansas City to see my fam and photograph a few sessions, and of course, satiate my palette with KC-style BBQ. I grew up in the Brookside area until my parents moved us WAY out to the country in a little town called Drexel, just south of KC. One of my all time favorite childhood places is Loose Park, and especially the Rose Garden. I had many family sessions there as a child, only with my Dad behind the camera. It’s a beautiful garden and we aren’t talking just a few small bushes here or there. It’s a spectacular area with at least 8 ft tall roses creeping up trellises and stone walls. The park is popular for hosting weddings, (my first wedding I ever shot was here!) and I can only imagine the line today to take photographs here on a wedding day, it’s just breathtaking!

Lauren + Joey wanted a casual session where they currently reside, so we started at the Plaza and made our way to the gardens. They plan on coming back to St. Louis for the wedding this November. I also had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Lauren’s sister (Meghan) last year! So much fun getting to work with the family again!
