Mollie + Aaron | St. Louis Engagement Photography

Ryan and I just got back from shooting a pretty wedding in the ‘burbs of Chicago. Then, we flew straight to the sunny, white beaches of Seaside, FL where we photographed two of the cutest and sweetest families! We even added a couple of days to spend together on the beach – as most of you know – we love to get away and shooting in new places is always a perk!

Speaking of new places, U City’s City Hall has been on my list of places to shoot for a long time. I’m not going to lie, most of our couples love Forest Park. I do too! I just try to choose new locations within the park to give a little variety for both myself and my clients. I know the lay-of-the-land and it’s constantly changing with the seasons. However, I LOVE shooting in a fun new place. Mollie + Aaron were in for a treat when they said they were up for anything + any spot! 🙂 City Hall even happened to be really close to where they are renovating their new home! Here are my 3 steps to a perfect engagement: 1) find a couple who is in love and not afraid to show it! 2) lighting! it always trumps item number three. 3) a fun location that compliments the overall look + aesthetic or has special meaning to the couple.

Mollie + Aaron really do have a unique love story. Their relationship literally progressed around the world! They met while getting their global MBA and traveled to 24 countries together; all while trying to keep it clandestine while traveling with 14 other students. Obviously, Ryan and I love to travel too. 😉 So seeing that these two love to do the same, and also love yummy dinners + wine, I was sold. Another sweet thing they mentioned that they celebrate is a “glad I met you day.” Ryan and I celebrate with a little sweet nudge or sweet note for our first date (“happy 13th”) + the day we got married (“happy 29th”). Sappy, I know. This is why I’m a wedding photographer! But seeeeee, my point is, we aren’t the only ones! 😉 (Ryan, please don’t be embarrassed).

Mollie is one of our past bridesmaids, and I’m so excited we can now call her our bride! We can’t wait to hang with you two next May!

Enjoy!
