Erin + Jay | Chicago Engagement Photography

Sometimes the most special places to shoot are the ones that mean the most to a couple. In this case, I packed an overnight bag, grabbed my friend Karin from TenSixteen Photography and headed towards Chicago. Erin + Jay met and fell in love on the beautiful campus of Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. They met through mutual friends from their fraternity + sorority, and soon after shared their first date grabbing a coffee. 5 years later these two were engaged! It’s pretty obvious they’re in love, don’t you think?! 🙂

Dinka + Tim | St. Louis Wedding Photography

Ooooohhhh probably my favorite type of wedding celebration is in a tent! This year we had quite a few outdoor weddings. Sadly, a few of them had to be moved inside. Dinka + Tim were lucky, they didn’t get rain! They just got the 2nd hottest Saturday of the year. 🙂 Ya’ll have probably been wondering where all our weddings went! Well, I’ve been busy (crazy-busy) this year with end-of-season what-nots and fall, fall, fall portrait sessions. I’ve taken my load for the year, so I now have some time in front of my computer to get caught up on emails and weddings! Yay! I have so many beautiful ones coming up.

Tim is a friend of one of our past grooms! Shout out to Jimmy! Tim played lacrosse at Lindenwood University, where these two met 8 years ago! Tim finally proposed and this beautiful, romantic day finally came into play.

I’m really excited to share their pretty-in-pink wedding! It all took place on the grounds of Tim’s family’s home. It was pretty spectacular. I gauge this by how much fun the guests have! 😉 How nice is it to mingle with a signature cocktail and yummy hors d’oeuvres by a pool toasting the happy couple?!

Enjoy the photos!

Katharine + Tyler | St. Louis Engagement Photography

The one thing I love about my job besides the art of it, is meeting new (really) wonderful people. I know that not every one of our clients wants or needs a new friend, but I certainly appreciate it when they do. On a daily basis, I get so many sweet texts, emails and Instagram + FB comments from my favorite clients + couples. I wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU to these special individuals. You keep motivated to create art and continue making people happy. I realize we are in a service-based industry, but when you treat us like a friend or guest at a wedding it goes a long way and I really appreciate it. I took on over 90 projects this year, and I’m really proud of myself for keeping up with a blog post for almost every session! I may have had a couple of mental breakdowns, but who doesn’t when you own your business. SOOOOO worth it! 🙂 Speaking of receiving texts, right after this fun session, Tyler (!) sent me a sweet thank you text. (!!) 🙂

It’s so hard to believe this year is coming to an end. Katharine + Tyler will be our last wedding of the year in late December. These two love birds work on Wash U Campus so of course, with the beautiful architecture and knowing the ins + outs, how could they resist having their engagement session there?! I loved how they took me to a new spot. 🙂 The campus is a favorite with a lot of our couples, so a change of scenery was refreshing! 😉 Tyler’s parents live in London, so this lucky gal got a surprise proposal at Regent’s Park. She had no idea (really!) he was going to propose, only seconds before it happened when Tyler got really quiet. 🙂 It’s kinda funny that they both remember all the American women walking by snapping photos. Tourists! 😉 So here they are planning their wedding day, and we get to be a part of it.

Enjoy the photos!

Umang + Joe | St. Louis Engagement Photography

We are back from our vacation where we celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary! I can’t believe how fast the time has gone. TODAY is actually the BIG day, so I thought I would share the sweet card we received from Ryan’s parents…

Marriage is easy, marriage is hard,

Marriage takes time (and a big credit card!)

Marriage is challenging, marriage is fun,

Marriage is cuddling when each day is done…

Marriage takes patience and practice and trust,

Marriage takes two who know laughter’s a must.

Marriage is magic, marriage is dreams and “let’s-get-away-for-the-weekend” type schemes.

Marriage is simple, marriage is tough,

Marriage takes guts when the going gets rough…

For marriage demands all the best you can give, and gives you life’s best every day that you live.

Happy Anniversary to two special people who make it look so easy!

Cute, right?! Speaking of cute, meet Umang + Joe!

So somewhere knee-deep in the woods of Queeny Park, these two have created an anniversary tradition. A special spot on a bridge where he asked her to be his girlfriend and years later to be his wife. 🙂 So we made the trek – I’m not sure if it was really a 10 minute walk 😉 but it was worth it. It only helped prepare me physically for our hike in Sedona, AZ. 😉

Enjoy!

Happy Autumn!

Pumpkins + gourds, mums, bittersweet, ornamental kale… These are all things I love so much about fall. We hope you are enjoying the change of scenery and snuggling up close to a loved one!

Ryan and I will be taking a break this week to enjoy our 3rd wedding anniversary! 🙂 We will get back to more beautiful posts + emails the week of October 28th.

Stay warm + cozy,
