Angela + Ryan | St. Louis Engagement Photography

Happy Spring! It’s finally arrived and that means all our couples + families are ready for Spring and Summer sessions. Bring it on! Spring is my absolute favorite season to shoot!

Angela + Ryan are pretty darn cute, and were so much fun to photograph! These two met years ago through mutual friends, and come to find out they didn’t even like each other at first! ha! Aren’t those always the best relationships?! But 8 years later Ryan planned a surprise proposal on a pretty beach in Mexico. Angela said yes, and here we are today! I wanted to get out of my favorite shooting locations and choose something a little different. I had them follow me in the car down the road a bit just until I found the perfect spot. By happenstance I chose near the water – it wasn’t an ocean, but we did have the sandy beaches and “shiny” water! The skies were overcast all day, and right before the session the sun appeared and cast this amazing, beautiful shooting light.

Can’t wait for the BIG day this October! I will be getting to work with my friend + wedding planner, Kristin, from Kristin Ashley Events! I asked Angela how the wedding planning was going… her response – easy! I’ve got Kristin. 🙂 I can’t wait!

Enjoy!

Camden Michael | 11 days old | St. Louis Newborn Photography

Happy Monday!

Don’t let this little man fool you, he did not want to go to sleep for me! 😉 But after a while, I think he realized he just better give in… which he did, and I believe we got some really amazing photos to show it. It’s such a blessing to work with little ones. It takes a lot of patience, and it’s something I’ve got a lot of with these sweet, sweet wee ones.

Enjoy the photos!

Baby Jane | 4 months old | St. Louis Baby Photography

Is Winter over yet?! We’ve got less than a month to go until Spring, and I’ve got to admit, I’m gonna be a little sad to see Old Man Winter leave. We got amazing snow this year (too much in some parts of the Midwest!)! And because of it, we were able to have a beautiful snowy winter wonderland engagement session (only one of my couples was interested, ha! – thank you Brooke & Ryan), and of course, this little dear pictured below! Nothing better than watching my clients grow, and to be able to capture these moments of pure cuteness.

Baby Jane just 4 months old, having a conversation with me and Foxie in the wilderness. Love her so!

Have a great week everyone!

Patriotic Styled Shoot | Heather Roth Fine Art Photography

Happy President’s Day! Lucky you if you have the day off and are actually taking the time to read this post! 🙂

Every year I like to work on a couple of styled shoots during the off-wedding season. Last year at this time, we created Heart Deco focused around Valentine’s Day, and this year we wanted to be a little different and focus on Patriotism. After Ryan and I saw the movie Lincoln, I got a bug. 😉 Just like a wedding day, sometimes things don’t go as planned, and you just gotta go with it. The weather was awful on the only day we could make the shoot happen. Icy rain conditions in the morning had us shooting inside, and understandably, everyone was a little nervous to get out in the middle of the cold mid-western nowhere (Illinois) for the shoot. 😉 But that didn’t stop us! No! We braved the elements when conditions improved a bit and had so much fun while capturing a few more images outside to get that cool barn with the American flag!

Kristin Weis, from Kristin Ashley Events is always fun to work with! She’s a great friend, and someone who can pull all these great wedding vendors together to make an event come together beautifully. We created a soft color palette from the flag, and were inspired by the beautiful lyrics of My Country, ‘Tis of Thee. Goes to show that wedding inspiration can be found in just about anything! A BIG thanks to everyone, including our models, who put so much effort into this!
