Amy + Charlie | St. Louis Engagement Photography

I love love love when I can get a couple to do an engagement session in the snow. 🙂 We’ve been getting a ton of it lately and it’s really the only thing I like about winter besides cozy sweaters, boots and red wine. 🙂 So you can imagine just how fun it was to get out and play with Amy + Charlie!

We thought it might be fun to bring along an old sled – wouldn’t you know these vintage ones only work on ice. So it was really funny to watch Charlie make several whole-hearted attempts at giving Amy a little push down hill. And I’m totally not lying when I say someone almost ran off with my sled! We were shooting in the trees and hidden a bit when I heard these little snow footsteps and a door slamming. I ran out and sure enough a little yellow bus was driving off with my sled! Gah! Waving my arms frantically, the driver finally stopped and a kid brought it back. So funny.

Then, it gets better… that sweet snow heart that Charlie made. It was so perfect. But then we momentarily lost that sparkly engagement ring in the snow. Whoops. Amy seemed to be laughing it off and I was starting to get hot and anxious, but Charlie didn’t look so good. AND then we found it! Good deal, because I really wanted to be a part of this wedding come June. I get to work with the fabulous Katie with Simply & Forever again. Yay!

Some of our couples struggle with outfit options, and we do our best to give examples and inspiration, or maybe just what I would wear. 😉 Amy belongs to this online personal stylist service called Stitch Fix. She just opened her latest delivery and pulled out that cute and cozy sweater cardigan! It all worked out perfectly – these two are sooooo cute! Big thanks to Annie Heyward, who did the fab hair + make up.
