Ryan and I just got back from a long MLK weekend adventure in NYC! The very same time last year I was holding hands with Jimmy Fallon. Okay, not really, but close. We got tickets to the show and he high-fived me on his way out at the end of the show. (Thanks to my friend Megan who recorded the episode and snapped an iPhone pic – see last photo – I can hold that moment near + dear! :)) This year we bummed around in the cold getting inspiration, satiating our culinary fix and of course, shopping! We also visited the Statue of Liberty. We were one of the few lucky ones to get tickets in advance to climb all the way up into Lady Liberty’s crown! Pretty neat experience.

On to this cute couple … Joyatee + Sam are our first couple who braved the winter for a cozy engagement and they will also be our very first wedding of 2015! 🙂 I seriously can’t wait to get started again. I’ve got just 3 more weddings to edit from 2014 until the cycle starts all over again. 😉 But I’m feelin’ fresh + renewed! Having a daily yoga practice has helped me find a balance between what I love (my work) and my personal life. Rainy with a hint of sleet doesn’t quite make for the perfect recipe for an engagement session, but the beautiful grounds of the Botanical Gardens offered us some neat places to explore + a warm haven.
