Katharine + Tyler | St. Louis Wedding Photography

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I have finally made it to our very last wedding of 2013. Phew! I’m giving myself hugs + kisses right now, not because it’s Valentine’s Day… but because I have officially photo-blogged every wedding from last year! Whaaahooo!

Can I tell you how excited I am that I’m revealing this wedding on this special love day! Well, since it was on December 28th, it’s a little bit of Christmas and a whole lotta love and prettiness too. Katharine + Tyler are the sweetest people. They are another one of our couples who were making sure their guests + staff were having a good time. 🙂 It’s no wonder they included the Chinese motif “Double Happiness” on their wedding day. Those two are double happiness together! I can’t help but LOVE all the hints of red (popular in Chinese weddings). A couple of other Chinese wedding traditions they included were the bride leaving the hotel being shaded with a red umbrella + the tea ceremony at the reception. I really enjoy learning + photographing new and exciting cultural things.

I also appreciate when a couple is flexible with their wedding day agenda. Winter months tend to have shorter days of good light. So instead of doing family portraits after a 2PM ceremony, we opted to do these right before the reception in the Chase lobby. This gave us more time to work with the couple and their wedding party with the last bit of daylight.

Have you EVER known a bride to cut + color her hair in between the day’s events just before the reception?! I have! I have! Ohh.mmmm.geee. While we were shooting details before and during cocktail hour, Katharine was changing into this crazy-beautiful red lace dress… AND getttttttting a new doooo! I could not believe it – the girl has got some spunk! 😉

Now that I have finished all of our wedding edits for the year, it’s time for me to continue working on wedding albums and relive the days. I’m excited to take a little break (no shooting or editing), clean up my office + hard drives, get inspired for 2014 + spend more time cuddling with my lovie. I promise to be back real soon. 🙂

May your day be filled with double happiness!

Enjoy!
