Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

It’s finally time for my favorite holiday (besides Halloween)! The best part – we take two long weeks to get our fill of candy, candy canes, candy corn and syrup! … oh and friends and family too! 😉

We want to wish you a very merry holiday. I’ll chat with you next year!

Brie + Terry Wedding | St. Louis Wedding Photography

Happy Holidays! I have been taking short breaks from editing lately to go spend some time in the kitchen baking all sorts of goodies for Christmas. Last year, my Mom and I found all my Grandma’s old recipes. The woman really liked her sweets! So I decided I’d try all her recipes for the first time over the holidays. It’s been fun! So getting back to weddings, I only have a few more to show for the year! …

Brie + Terry are officially my longest dating couple! They have been together since Brie was 15! I can see their chemistry in every image, and I love that. Terry is seriously in love with this girl! 🙂

Can you believe all the photographs were taken at one location, and we walked to each spot?! Both the ceremony and reception took place at the Marriot West in Chesterfield. I love it when a couple puts their trust in me and goes along with pretty much everything I say! ha! 😉

B + T – thanks so much for having me capture your special day! Enjoy some of my favorites!

Haley & Patrick Farm Wedding | Old Warson Country Club Reception

This wedding is going to be pretty hard not to fall in love with. Hands-down one of my very favorites! Meg Huntley with Dreamwork Events pretty much nailed it with perfection. Haley and Patrick! Gah! You two are aaaaa-dorable, sweet and so kind – thank you! I’m seriously going to try and zip it, so you can skip what I say and just go straight to the photos. I just couldn’t narrow down the imagery for this post! 🙂

Haley + Patrick’s wedding celebration took place on a beautiful Thursday afternoon when things were beginning to look like fall on the family farm in Houston, MO. The ceremony took place on a beautiful cliff with a view, no doubt. To get to the location we even had to take a little ride on the ranger through the woods. Seriously, the best experience ever! Guests sat on hand-made wooden benches decorated with flowers. I so wanted to take one of those home!

Then, we headed back down to the lodge where a large king’s table sat awaiting the guests that would make your jaw drop. I was in detail heaven. Bittersweet and eucalyptus wrapped around the trellis and a runner of beautiful fall flowers in the center. Absolutely breathtaking. Bloomin’ Buckets I’m in awe. I’ll let you see for yourself. Annie Gunns did the catering, where Chef Lou Rook III took care of them (and us!) with a fabulous five course dinner and wine pairing.

Saturday we took the celebration to St. Louis for a beautiful reception at Old Warson. It just kept getting better! It’s like having two really wonderful wedding days! I loved the clear tent with crystal chandeliers hanging above the tables. Guests even got a surprise fireworks show right after their first dance.

Haley + Patrick – sweetest couple ever! Thank you SO much for including us in your wedding. In the words of Giuliana Rancic, it was “amazeballs.”

Enjoy these beautiful photos!

Erin + Ted Engagement | St. Louis Engagement Photography

Seriously, how can any couple be this cute?! Meet and fall in love with Erin + Ted! Wait, it gets even better… Ted is a pilot! Drool. … And ladies, the pretty little knit dress that Erin is wearing so well is from Michael Kors. I’ve already had gals ask. 😉 Believe it or not, the two met at a restaurant/bar (Miso) and a year-and-a-half later Ted was proposing with breakfast in bed. A completely laid-back proposal, and it just so happens to be how these two roll.

Yay for me! A new place to shoot. This South City park just happens to be where Erin spent a lot of her childhood times playing and enjoying the animals. Take a look at my favorites, and I promise, they don’t bite!

Mayur’s Vidhi Celebration | St. Louis Indian Wedding Photography

Are you ready for some color?! Prepare yourself for an amazing Indian celebration! As you probably already know about Indian culture, the ceremonies are very, well, ceremonious – and with so many aspects I thought it would be hard to cover everything in just one blog post. You may have already seen the blog post on Sonya + Mayur’s Atlanta engagement celebration. Well, now we are leading up to the BIG wedding weekend! I will be separating the Vidhi + Mendhi celebration from the actual wedding day, so let’s start with Mayur’s Vidhi first. The photographs are not in any particular order, and I didn’t necessarily feature every moment. I just love how all the images work together. I am goo goo gah gah over the busyness, the color and the emotion!

Rather than trying to explain what’s going on, I’ll let the photos do the talking. 😉 The Cliff Notes version: the family prepares Mayur for the wedding day by cleansing him and “beautifying” him with turmeric – that fun yellow yogurt-like paste. Clearly, his family went all in! He was covered! They also prepare the pole to be staked into the ground. It signifies a healthy life and the first structure of the home. They end the celebration with his sister and aunties making a walk to the home with pots atop their head. The eldest aunt carries the largest pot, and the pots get smaller as the individual gets younger. It’s a fun procession where they sing and dance around. Love!

Meanwhile, Sonya and her family are at her family’s home in St. Louis simultaneously having the same celebration. Be sure to check out the next post to see her and all the beautiful images!
